International donors are channelling their regional giving through Singapore's philanthropic hub. A growing number of international funders are setting up philanthropic organisations in Singapore to support their regional giving efforts as the country positions itself as a leading philanthropic hub in Asia, a recent study showed. The 2024 edition of the Singapore’s Biggest Philanthropic Organisations report compiled by social impact consultancy Soristic also revealed an increase in the number of philanthropic organisations in the city and their total global giving, underscoring the fast development of the nation’s institutional philanthropy. Soristic researchers put together a list of Singapore-registered private philanthropic organisations ranked by annual grants, including both local and international, made in the latest financial year. A sub-list of top-10 givers is included in the report publicly released in December. “Amongst the top 10 givers, the three new entrants … are philanthropic organisations led by principals who amassed their wealth outside of Singapore,” the report said.
